went there in the late 70’s
Mr Avondet shop teacher
Ms Patton for algebra
Mrs Dunne for science
bare rock strewn playing fields
girls wearing long jean jackets, feathered hair style
climbing on top of building on weekend to play tag, playing pickup basketball on the courts, trying out for Holy Family football in the fields a few years earlier
I went there in for one year 9th grade 1967. I can’t pronounce the shop teachers name, Mr. Coostenis?
Had a lot of good times there. Some of my friends were: Gene Vernon, Phil Taylor and his brother David Taylor. Carlton Evans and his brother Jack Evans. I actually lived in Glassmanor over near the Eastover shopping center (Oxon Hill). Had to be bused over to school and if I missed the bus I had to walk about 2-3 Miles. That happened quite often too! I caught the bus in front of the DrugFair store. Which was next to the Safeway store. There were also other buses there that were for Potomac High School.
Thinking about when I lived on Dixon Street and attending Shugart Jr High
