Sandymount Elementary

Sandymount Elementary, also known as Sandymount School, was located at 4207 Norcross Street, Marlow Heights, became part of the PG County school system sometime around 1956 (based upon a bronze plaque that is still affixed to the wall just inside the main entrance of the current PG County charter school). It ceased being a PG County public school sometime in the mid 1980’s, and up until 2009 or 2010 it was a church that included its own school. Many people have very fond memories of the school, and for me, I will always look at it as my, “Leave It To Beaver”, and, “Wonder Years”, existence, during the innocent times of the mid-to- late 1960s that I attended the school.
