Marlow Heights 60s and 70s

Sights

I lived on Akron Street in Deer Park Heights, and attended Sandymount Elementary School and Benjamin Stoddert Jr. High School (and one semester at Potomac Sr. High School). This page will have pictures of my old neighborhood, as well as the schools, restaurants, stores, etc.. Anyone reading this that attended Sandymount in the mid to late 60s, Stoddert in the early 70s, or lived on Akron, Beaumont, and Culver Streets, Dallas Drive, or Raleigh Road, write me!

How about the “Cat” at Powell’s Lincoln-Mercury on Branch Avenue? The dealership is still there, but they had to take the Cat off of the roof and on the ground. Someone also told me that the original Cat was replaced with this one. Can anyone confirm?

Remember Glen Echo Park? This was what we had long before Six Flags and Kings Dominion. And what about Marshall Hall?
